I became a family doc because I love getting to know people: where they come from, what matters to them, what they're working toward, and what's getting in the way. My favorite part of medicine is connecting with someone, understanding their goals, and then watching them change their life.
I grew up in Green Bay in a family that carried medical debt for much of my childhood. I saw how a broken system can add financial stress on top of illness, and how that stress shapes the choices we make about our health. It's a big part of why I practice the way I do. I'll always tell you what something costs and whether it's truly worth it, and help you find the most affordable way to get what you need. I built this clinic to be honest, transparent, and genuine value, because good care shouldn't bankrupt people.
I went to the University of Wisconsin–Madison for both college and medical school. I then came west to Missoula for where I fell in love with all the mountains had to offer.
After residency, I spent seven years practicing in the Methow Valley, a small mountain community in north central Washington two hours from the nearest hospital. Patients rarely wanted to leave the valley, so our clinic did a bit of everything. We were a primary care office most days and an urgent care or micro-ER when needed, stitching chainsaw wounds and setting broken bones. What I valued most was caring for whole families over many years and watching their lives and health change over time. That kind of long-term, personal relationship is what I'm building here.
With more than ten years in practice, I'm especially passionate about preventive care, chronic disease management, and mental health, particularly depression, anxiety, and ADHD. I manage them actively, combining lifestyle and integrative approaches with medication when it's the right tool. I also believe you deserve to understand the science behind your own health, so I take the time to explain why, and that lets you make decisions that fit your life.
Outside the clinic, I'm happiest with my family and in wild places: backcountry skiing, alpine climbing, trail running, surfing, and sailing. At home I cook, listen to vinyl, read, and wrestle with my three-year-old son. The highlight of my past year was teaching him to ski. He skied down from the top of Snowbowl at 2 1/2! Just this morning he learned to pedal a bike for this first time!
Come visit, I’d love to hear your story.
